Ability Tees

Our course has Ability Tees to improve the golfing experience for all players of every level. Men and women can play off any tee for casual and competition rounds at the club. Popular in the US and Europe for some time, we are proud to offer golfers this shift in playing culture to a fully integrated course.

‘Ability Tees’ mean that golfers have greater choice when playing. This brings many advantages as new golfers can start on a less intimidating level and work their way up as they improve, women golfers have the opportunity to play off a longer course and men have the extra option to play the shorter course. As well as the playing benefits, mixed or family groups can tee off together, making the round more social and the club has more flexibility for competitions, providing a wider range of mixed, men's and women's competitions to suit its membership.

At Finchley Golf Club, you can choose your course, three are available: White (6,302 yards), Yellow (5,978 yards) and Red (5,570 yards). During the winter months there is a Blue (5,691 yards) course in place of the Yellow course. All the courses are measured and rated by England Golf for men and women with pars and stroke indexes unified.

For the new scorecard you will need to indicate whether you are scoring as a man or woman. This is required by the World Handicap System (WHS), which takes gender into account when calculating handicaps.
