"The best presented golf course for club play that I have seen in years!"

Ken Brown, Ryder Cup player, BBC Golf Expert

Designed by five-times Open winner James Braid, this, 18-hole, 6,356 yard, par 72 picturesque parkland course is regarded as the finest North London golf challenge.

Come and see our beautiful Victorian Club House. Close to central London, by car and Tube. Visitors welcome during the week and at weekends.

I am delighted and honoured to be Captain of Finchley Golf Club for 2011. I look forward to the year ahead and hope to play with as many members as possible.  Finchley prides itself in its many golfing and social events and I am sure that 2011 will prove to be an exceptionally busy year, as we have many new ideas planned.

I joined the Club in 1998 and found that Friendly Finchley immediately offered me, as well as other new members, the opportunity of playing in weekly competitions. With the help and guidance of several of the members, who have since become good friends, I became involved in both golf and social activities.
.
Over the past few years, there has been a significant improvement to the course – thanks, in no small measure, to the hard work and expertise of Craig Newton, our Head Green Keeper, and his team. I always feel confident that new members and visitors will enjoy playing on our well established, parkland course designed by James Braid. We also host the annual National James Braid Trophy as well as other County Competitions.

The Board and Committees are dedicated to providing members, guests and visitors with the highest quality enjoyment - both on the course and in the Clubhouse. The Club actively encourages golfers to play in our Open Days; which gives them the opportunity of not only playing in a competition, but also meeting the members and joining the club.

To discover more about our facilities please use the links on the website, or contact our Secretary/Manager, Michael Gottlieb; who will be happy to provide you with any additional information you may require.

My chosen charities this year are UK Prostate Action and Cancer Research UK.

I take this opportunity to extend the warmest welcome to all who play at Finchley Golf Club and wish you a happy and successful year ahead.
