A welcome from our Captain for 2008, David Motts

It is a great honor to be Captain of Finchley Golf Club, a "once in a lifetime" opportunity. In terms of golf, naturally I look forward to the year ahead with great expectations but I also hope to have a lot of fun along the way. My sincere wish is that 2008 will be a great year for me and all of our members and guests.

I have been a member since 1989 and have seen many changes in both the course and the clubhouse. The improvements have been significant and the course is at its very best, thanks to the hard work of Craig Newton and his staff. I am proud and delighted to present the club to you all, members and visitors alike.

For our visitors, you will find that we have an excellent Parkland golf course at Finchley, only 8 miles from Marble Arch, which will set a challenge to all standards of players.  Your game will need to be at, or close to its best, to score well but I am sure that you will enjoy the experience.

We are the hosts of the James Braid Trophy, James Braid being the course designer of over 200 hundred courses and a past winner of The Open Golf Championship.

We have a team that is dedicated to provide members, guests and visitors with the highest quality of enjoyment both on the course and in the Clubhouse. We pride ourselves on providing a professional, friendly and hospitable service and an experience to savor.
